Busy busy busy.
First day back to work in the new year and the day felt like it whooshed right by me – I almost forgot to eat my lunch! As it was I ate it at my desk, not good I know but let me repeat, crazy busy day!
After work I got home as quickly as the ever so creepingly slow C would allow and hustled off to meet Jeni for hot yoga at 7:15. The class started at 7:45 but it’s the first week of January so everyone in the known universe was at the gym. I was happy to see new faces but we were definitely packed into the room like sardines.
On the upside the sheer numbers made the room extra hot, so by the end of the 90 minutes I was feeling nice and bendy. Good thing too since we did a knee to ankle pose towards the end of class. This one is super hard for me for some reason. My hips just aren’t as flexible as the rest of me. In time I’m hoping this improves. Here’s what a knee to ankle pose looks like:
Looks easy right? Oy… Not so much for me. Not gonna stop trying though!
When I got home I grabbed some brussel sprouts out of the fridge, cut off the ends, halved em and popped them in a baggie with a bit of kosher salt, pepper and olive oil. I shook them up dumped them onto some tinfoil and stuck them in the oven at 400 degrees while I grabbed a very fast shower. No worries, my roommate was home to monitor in case of some catastrophe .
Don’t laugh, if it can be broken, destroyed or set on fire, I have probably managed to do it in the past.
Anyway, after the shower the brussels were nearly done.
I grabbed some leftover roasted root veggies and sliced up a small fresh salad to go with them.
It was a quick easy and tasty meal! I kinda wish I was eating before 10:30 but hey, that’s New York for ya.
Tonight I’ll try to get to bed somewhat early as I have another pretty crazy day at work tomorrow. Then more hot yoga and rinse and repeat. Looking forward to my day off Wednesday, I think I’ll probably take the evening to tweak the blog layout some more. I’m also experimenting with Tumblr so look for updates on that too. Time now for some yummy Chamomile tea and what’s turning out to be a really good book.
Have a great night!

Jill your blog looks great! And GASP! I’m in it! How exciting!
I like the new layout and the pics. And I love that you love yoga. You’re awesome. And keep in mind that what we think of as imperfection is actually just a form of perfection- of being the perfect human being. You’re already perfect, we all are.
It’s hard to remember sometimes. In one of the classes we went to the instructor told us to look into the mirror at our best friend in the whole world. Of course my eyes drifted over to you. It was kind of a shocker and then a real epiphany when I realized that she meant me! This is gonna take some time I think, but really worth it!
