even colder, but with a respite

Snow!

It’s hard to complain about the cold when you get to wake up to snow blanketing the city at least once a week. It’s serene and beautiful and it stays that way for nearly an hour after it stops.

Then it turns into a dirty, slushy mess of a magnitude relevant to the snowfall itself, and it seems to last pretty much until the next time it snows.

But… for a few moments this morning I’ll walk in the falling flakes and even the most surly of New Yorkers walking alongside me will seem to find just a little bit of the same joy in it that I do.

It’s currently 7 degrees at my house in Richmond. Amazing coldness. John Coltrane and Miles Davis are keeping me company though, so it’s not that bad at all. Enjoy the weather! Miss ya! :)
