Snow!
It’s hard to complain about the cold when you get to wake up to snow blanketing the city at least once a week. It’s serene and beautiful and it stays that way for nearly an hour after it stops.
Then it turns into a dirty, slushy mess of a magnitude relevant to the snowfall itself, and it seems to last pretty much until the next time it snows.
But… for a few moments this morning I’ll walk in the falling flakes and even the most surly of New Yorkers walking alongside me will seem to find just a little bit of the same joy in it that I do.
It’s currently 7 degrees at my house in Richmond. Amazing coldness. John Coltrane and Miles Davis are keeping me company though, so it’s not that bad at all. Enjoy the weather! Miss ya!
I should have clarified…it’s 68 degrees inside…7 degrees outside. Ha.
My apartment is FREEZING. But my down comforter is soo comfy and who hangs out in their apartment in NY anyway?

wet dog feet on my new sofa. wet ankles, wind blowing IN my house. $$$ heat, digging a car out
