freezing (and an excuse for a cheesy photoshop)

Wow. Make no mistake – it is a whole lot colder in New York than I expected. This morning I was uncomfortable by the time I got to the office. And by uncomfortable I mean I was shifting my coffee from hand to hand while I plunged the other into its respective pocket long enough for the other to start hurting from the wind chill. Yes, I have gloves and no I was not wearing them – so the fault is mine and I know it. But seriously, I was not expecting a chill of this magnitude until, I don’t know… December at least?

I think the big difference that I’m going to have to get used to is the commute. It’s not that its that much colder than Richmond was – well, it is, but that isn’t really the point. It’s that I have a 1.3 mile walk from my train stop to the door of my office and I work right next to the river. Is there such a thing as river effects? You know, like lake effects, only, with a bit more of a current?

Anyway, I’ll be investing in better head wear, maybe a babushka? (upon futher google search I think I actually meant Ushanka)

I’ll take suggestions for sure. And it looks like I’ll be wearing my hair straight for most of the winter. Doing this with a wet head would be seriously unwise.

Next week is Thanksgiving, which means 2 days off work (paid! yesssss!) the parade, dinner with Shari and an opportunity to meet little Rachael, as well as window shopping on 5th ave.

Not to mention all the biking and running I’m planning on. The night before last was my longest run yet. The city may get a little lonely here and there but it is putting me in the best shape of my life, so maybe not a bad thing at all.

And now you know why I went the route of copywriting instead of art direction or design.

Go Photoshop.
