I just had the most “right out of a movie” experience ever leading up to the holiday. More so even than the year I hitchhiked in from Colorado, arriving just in time for dinner, with nothing to keep me warm save a Marlboro jacket (the kind you buy with the miles out of the packs) that was kicked down to me by a sympathetic truck driver that couldn’t offer me a ride.
Yes, seriously, even more amazing than that.
It was one of those times when the world seemed oh-so-bleak and I honestly didn’t think anything at all could possibly work out. Then, at the eleventh hour, right when I and the people I rely on for support had finally buckled and were just about to give up… As the house of cards I had been so precariously been balancing on began to crumble – just then – every single little piece of the picture snapped neatly into place.
And so today, here I am. Hanging out in a wonderful warm comfortable house with delicious smalls wafting up though the hallways, beckoning me downward to the kitchen. And completely surrounded by people I love.
Details on the adventure that preceded the current perfection to come after I have myself some seriously awesome family time and my fair share home baked delicious goodness.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
