little tiny details, big huge bags

Many people have expressed interest in seeing actual pics of the tiny itsy bitsy apartment and our ongoing efforts to make use of vertical space.

I do promise that pics are forthcoming as well as tricks and tips on space utililazation, but at the moment it is all still very much in flux.

We do have the family room… *ahem* family…nook? cubby? miniature sitting area? Well, whatever it is, it’s somewhat situated. As in, getting there, albeit slowly.

The kitchen, on the other hand, still needs a ton of work and my bedroom is basically filled to its capacity in something of a haphazard Jill style way.

Here’s a kitchen teaser though, a handy little bag holder that resides where we need everything to at this point, on the wall.

Melissa offered to hand model to simulate the item in use.

Delightful isn’t it?

I do have a remote for the A/C which is quite lovely because it eliminates at least one, scramble-on-my-knees-across-my-bed-in-my-uncomfortable-work-clothes-butitssofreakinhotidontcare — moments.

Just point and click baby, 5 minutes later and the lovely processed air envelopes me. Too bad I can’t use the timer, as I never have an earthly clue as to when I’ll actually get home. Ah well, fall is in the air, and before long the A/C will be an unused fixture for the duration.

Today I brought all my workout gear and shower paraphernalia to my job in hopes of getting my sweat on midday, showering, and then being ready to face the world immediately after work. The only complication to the facing the world part is, of course, the 20 pound duffel bag full of crap. When I do, finally, thankfully, get a real job, hopefully I’ll have a place where I can leave my shower items in the city.

A girl can dream you know! And yes, I do dream big… “Leaving my deodorant in the office” big. Thank you very much.

So the kitchen will get knocked out this evening or maybe tomorrow. Soon though, and when it is, I will definitely post some pictures. For now though, here’s one of said duffel bag, and a bonus – you also get a glimpse of the lovely little office in which I’m currently temping.

Yes, it is gargantuan. As in way too big. (the bag. not the office. duh.)

Yes I plan on buying a smaller bag in the very near future, leaving me with yet another empty bag to stuff in my oh so packed in space under my bed.

Joy!

that’s your duffel bag? i’ve seen chicks with purses that big.

Now that I look, it does appear deceptively small. Let me assure you however, that it weighs in at approximately 74 kilos (I’m using metrics to be even more confusing) and it has rendered me permanently skewed to one side a la the old school V8 commercials from 1992.

That duffel bag means business. And by business I mean in the Dave Mustaine sort of way. And by that? I probably need to get to bed before I drown in nostalgia.

Someone get me a headband and that awesome A-ha video.

    Stat.
