Another shooting on my block and the neighborhood is starting to react, finally. I love Franklin Ave has a great but depressing post about it.
I’m particularly saddened by the news as the delivery guy that is now in critical condition from a stray bullet to his stomach actually brought me my dinner the night before.
What really bothers me is the fact that so many of these effing guns are coming from my home state of Virginia. I used to go to “gun shows” where one could walk in/walk out with a bevy of hand guns and even semi automatic rifles and show nothing but a walkers ID and a signature.
Now the economy takes a hit, crime is on the rise and gangs are spraying my neighborhood with bullets from guns that are easier to find/buy than fishing rods. It sickens and saddens me.
When will the NRA realize that the right to bear arms to defend against the abuses of a rogue government does not translate to unfettered access by those who know and care nothing of government and are only driven by a sick need to control others? When will lawmakers develop the “guts” to use reasoned argument to explain gun restrictions to those whose agendas make them unable to listen to logic!
