We signed a lease!!

Finally, last night, at around 8pm we sat down and made it final. I will not lie, this has been one of the most arduous tasks I have ever embarked upon. If I wanted to stump Hercules, after the whole barn cleaning I would have marched his loin cloth-ed butt right over to Brooklyn and told him to find a moderately priced 2 bedroom (with closets!) in a nice, safe neighborhood, close to a train (not the G mind you!) and without a broker fee. I think he would have probably peaced out to Olympus never to be heard of again.

But it’s done, and the place is ours and the neighborhood is magnificent. I can’t wait to get to the details, post the pictures and really fill you in, but for now, just know that stage one of three is complete. Now all I need to do is fly to Richmond, rent a truck, move my stuff and find the job of my dreams. After this apartment search I am confidant I can rearrange planets if necessary, this short list will be cake. With ice cream. And cappuccino. And really delicious micro brew. All of which can be found within 2 blocks of my new abode -yay!

The apartment is in Park Slope South, less than 3 blocks from the R. The place we thought we had fell though, then the 2 places after that fell though as well but, as a friend said it all seemed to happen for a reason cause in the end this spot is, by far the best of the bunch.

I’ll be making an entry with a lengthier explanation and some helpful tips on how I should have approached the apartment renting process and didn’t. Live and learn, I’m gonna go nurse my blisters!

    That’s great!!

Funny enough, when I thought about the move to the Apple, I found a place in the same neighborhood!!

I’m proud of you, my dear. I knew you’d take the city by storm. You’re the best.
