I did my grocery shopping for the week yesterday and noticed that Chobani Greek yogurt was on sale. Like really on sale, so much so that even my “creature of habit” self was convinced that it was worth it to give it a shot. Lots of fellow runner/bloggers seem to like the brand and although I’m a die hard fan of the Fage I decided to give it a shot. It’s got 20 calories on my golden standard so I figured it would probably have a little more thickness and perhaps be a bit sweeter. I was really surprised that it’s actually a little more bitter and thin. I enjoyed it, and added a small handful of currants to sweeten it up, but I’m glad that I only experimented with one and not the entire week.
Back to the Fage tomorrow for sure.
After some overnight oats and a banana for lunch I headed into the city to check out the Tim Burton exhibit at the MOMA. A friend of mine gets corporate membership tickets to the museum for free so Jeni and I headed in to meet up with him and check out the art. I’ve loved Tim Burton’s work since Tron so I was pretty excited for this. After trudging through the 6 degree windchill and a verrry slow D train I finally met up with the crew.
We got into the museum no problem but when we arrived at the entrance to the exhibit we were told that it was event ticket holders only! Bummer! We tried to reason with the security guard, but to no avail. At this point I doubt that there were three more crestfallen faces at the MOMA today.
As we slowly walked our rejected selves away from the entrance a random woman approached us with a card in her hand. She said she was a special ticket holder and could help to get us in! Apparently she donated and had some very special privileges. We walked right back up to the same security people, she told them we were with her and they let us in! Yay for awesome New Yorkers!
The exhibit is amazing, I would recommend it to anyone visiting the city. There were items from Burton’s own home that may never see an exhibit again, extraordinary.
After we got our fix of everything from Beetlejuice to Big Fish we headed out to 5th Ave to check out some of the windows again. This time I got some pics!
You can kind of get the “Alice in Wonderland” theme here that I mentioned the other day.
This one I found kind of haunting and beautiful.
Snow flurries fell around us as we walked and I dubbed this one “Winter Wonderland” I know, not incredibly creative, but I was cold!
It only got chillier as it started getting dark so we all parted ways soon after and I headed home to cook up some fresh pasta I’ll be bringing in for lunch this week. I think I’ll do a few sun salutations before bed and then back to work, and the real life tomorrow. It certainly has been a nice break.
Have a great week!
